Homeschool support groups come and go rather often, so we do not try to keep an updated list of every support group in the state. However, we do list groups in the tri-county area (Montgomery, Autauga, and Elmore).

Homeschool Alabama (formerly CHEF of Alabama) is a 501-C(3) non-profit organization that exists to inform and connect Alabama homeschoolers since 1988. We provide accurate legal advice; seek to influence the legislative process to protect our freedom to home educate; support and encourage homeschool parents; and provide resources for local and state groups. 

Elmore County Homeschool Organization (ECHO)

ECHO is a support group for all home schooling families in the greater Elmore County area, including Millbrook, Wetumpka, Prattville and Montgomery, so you do not have to live in Elmore County to participate. We seek to provide a positive socialization environment for home schooled children and to furnish a forum for support and encouragement to their parents in the home schooling process. The group meets twice a month with parents and children together for fun activities and field trips. We also have a Teen ECHO group that meets monthly.

FHE is a group of families in Prattville and surrounding areas who support one another in the area of home education. We offer many educational opportunities as well as social gatherings for our children. Clubs meet on the days, times and locations convenient for members.

Montgomery Homeschoolers, Alabama

This group is for home schoolers to support one another in the home school life. We can plan outings and field trips and share help with planning, picking the right cover schools, and programs. Summer camps, girl scouts, sports, dance, and any other extra-curricula are welcome.
