Register for the Scripps Spelling Bee

Homeschool Alabama has registered with the Scripps National Spelling Bee organization so homeschoolers in Alabama will have a way to participate in the national spelling bee.

This year, we will use the Scripps National Spelling Bee’s online testing platform to hold our Homeschool Alabama preliminary spelling bee via an online spelling test. This will be available January 1-12, 2025.

The top 20 students from this preliminary bee will advance to the state homeschool bee on February 1.

The winner of this state homeschool spelling bee on February 1 will move on to the Alabama state spelling bee in Birmingham in March.

If your child wishes to participate, he/she must be registered with Homeschool Alabama by December 31 and pay the family registration fee.
